Your Stars February 2024

Unusually, in February all eight planets in the solar system are on the move forwards, suggesting a month of rapid change. Aquarius and Aquarius rising

This birthday season could turn out to be a before-and-after moment, a game changer. Although you will be hearing a lot about Pluto’s move into your sign, the action is supplied as much by the planets – Sun, Mercury, Mars, Venus – moving past Pluto and thereby becoming supercharged for the following few weeks.

The new Moon of the 8th is pivotal, the cue for unveiling grand plans or to make a less fanfare reset. This Moon is in potent aspect to Prometheus, a disruptive energy, so you may have to break a few eggs to make the omelette, so to speak. The past is not your greatest friend just now, a point emphasised by another planet in the mix, Jupiter. A shake-up of your domestic arrangements is perhaps overdue.

Romance? Let’s just say that with Mars joining Pluto on Valentine’s Day, all-or-nothing scenarios are what’s being signalled. An almost full Moon in your partnership sign of Leo around the 22nd raises the stakes. Happy Birthday.

Pisces and Pisces rising

The weeks before your birthday are rarely your finest hour, but many of you, February birthdays in particular, will be proving this quite the opposite, thanks to Saturn bringing all your hard work (from last year in particular) to a satisfying outcome. That you have a full Moon opposite on February 24 adds to the sense that one phase of your journey is done, though 2024 will not be taking off the pressure for a while yet.

More good news: thanks to your Jupiter ruler right through to May, you have powerful friends to call on – powerful as prestigious perhaps, but more definitely powerful in their big heartedness for sure. And, as the song says, we all need someone to lean on. Romance? A little behind the scenes just now.

 Aries and Aries rising

Officialdom, The System, The Man  – call it what you like but it has to be negotiated and, if necessary, appeased.  Since your Mars ruler is still atop your ‘scope and powerful in Capricorn, you are both under challenge from authority but well equipped to handle the challenge. Act swiftly.

A new Moon in Aquarius on the 9th, and the arrival of Mars there on the 14th, are reminders that you have a cohort of simpatico fellow travellers on whom you can call for support and good times. Still, once the season of Pisces starts on the 20th, you should also be seeking down time and that elusive quality, ‘wellness’, we read so much about. Spring this year is a bit of late starter for the tribe of Rams, so there is no hurry.

Taurus and Taurus rising

The two heavyweight planets occupying your sign, Jupiter and Prometheus, are on the move – as, indeed, is most of the planetary ensemble. Hence this is no time for dawdling  or resisting change. With ruler Venus and Mars helpfully sited, the first half of February looks accommodating, yet there is also urgency in  professional dealings that grows as the month progresses. Delay is pointless – grasp whatever nettle you must, including confrontation with unsavoury or downright sinister types.

The month of Pisces, from the 20th, softens the mood – indeed, with a full Moon in your faith house over the weekend of the 24th, see if you can find a party to celebrate.

Gemini and Gemini rising

February’s big thing is communication: in this case from one air sign to another, the Twins to the Urn Bearer.  With a new Moon here on the 9th, and Mars and Venus from mid-month, some high-minded thinking is in order, along with actual travel on the physical plane. People from outside  of your usual stomping ground may prove important, even romantically.

Along with such skylarking comes the season of Pisces and a full Moon in Virgo on the 24th, both of which renew the demand for you to get your career in order and success in reach. Saturn has just about finished with May birthdays, the rest of you should buckle in for the long haul.

Cancer and Cancer rising

cancerMid-February sees the turn of a relationship phase stretching back six weeks. Planets in your opposite sign, Capricorn, touch on personal and romantic one-on-one associations – the good and tender stuff by preference, though that is not always possible. Thereafter the accent is on abiding relationships, with the issue of money – who earns it, who spends it – in the mix.

Your ‘scope also offers two promising lifelines into the future. Jupiter smiles on business interests, and who can do what for others. Trade wisely. The other, even longer-term presence is Saturn in Pisces, a kindred water sign, urging you to take escape seriously; manoeuvre to get yourself out of Dodge City more often, and satisfy a hunger for skills, activism and learning for its own sake.

 Leo and Leo rising

You are, for sure, going to have your hands full, though not necessarily in a problematic way. The new Moon of the 9th, in your opposite sign of Aquarius, signals a birth/rebirth of a personal relationship, and with both Venus and Mars also moving into opposition, other people are likely demanding, needy and sending you mixed signals of allure and indifference. Nothing a just Lion King or Queen can’t handle.

Just as insistent comes the call of Jupiter from the top of your horoscope, opening doors where you can rub shoulders with the so-called great and good, and giving you the rub of the green in career runnings, or at least some of them – Prometheus also in this zone brings a maverick quality to decisions from on high.

 Virgo and Virgo rising

In February you a face mix of influences. You still have Venus and Mars on your side until mid-month, sweetening romance and creative inspiration. At the same time the mighty Sun and your personal planet Mercury, are transiting more mundane pastures, asking for top-flight Virgo delivery in the world of work and comms. Sometimes you can’t escape the chores (you love them, albeit secretly).

Fresh events and a lurch in the mood arrive with the annual full Moon in Virgo’s skies on the 24th – and given that Luna spends the entire weekend in Virgo, best anticipate some loony tunes socially.

The full Moon is opposite Saturn and is a reminder that you are dealing with said planet’s demands for the next two years, though August birthdays can breathe a – measured – sigh of relief.

 Libra and Libra rising

Much of February is taken up with your most personal interests; friendships, romances, family and concerns that, frankly, are not other people’s business. Commit to your emotional life, to the creative projects you hold dear, and let the impersonal worlds of work and subside and simmer for a while. Librans are reckoned good at strategy; draw up your plans and keep your habitual dithering in control. With help from ruler Venus, the new Moon of the 9th can rekindle a romantic affair or usher in a new contender.

The month of Pisces, and the full Moon of the 24th, ask for to get in shape for a protracted spell of work; not always fun but certainly rewarding.

 Scorpio and Scorpio rising

You get a lot of bang for your bucks in February. You don’t even need to spend out, but you do need to haul yourself away from any situation where you feel stuck. Scorpio’s energy is steady and strong but, like your complementary sign, Taurus, apt to get mired down. The two planets beaming at you from Taurus- Jupiter and Prometheus- are the opposite of stuck; they are dynamic and unafraid of change. Follow suit; be open to compromise. The new Moon of the 9th may even give you ideas about relocation.

The Sun’s move into fellow water sign Pisces is good news, touching on your personal ambitions and affairs of the heart. The new Moon suggests that some of you- October birthdays especially- may be leaving last year’s emotional turmoil behind.

Sagittarius and Sagittarius rising

SagittariusHold steady! February’s change of gear could get abrupt. The Aquarius season – which with Venus and Mars arriving in the urn bearer at mid-month, goes on for a few weeks afterwards – is good for you, feeding air for your fire, favouring social interaction, super-bright ideas and anything educational or charitable activity. If you are a science fiction fan, indulge yourself.

The season of Pisces is more demanding, arriving forcibly at the full Moon of the 24th, and calling for serious, sober reflection on what you want from your home/property, and career. Your totem planet, noble Jupiter, is back in play to throw some unexpected curve balls at you.

 Capricorn and Capricorn rising

With Mars and Venus still in your skies, you are granted a very soft landing into your post-birthday world. Thanks to planets in fellow earth sign Taurus – Jupiter and Prometheus –  you may even enjoy an early flash of springtime, romance included.

Aquarius represents money in your solar ‘scope, and a new Moon and planets there return you to that much favoured subject. Time to add to your store. Your ruler Saturn in Pisces is all in favour of enterprise, and the full Moon in fellow earth sign at the weekend of the 24th, carries the sense of a rare moment of freedom and joy.

Want to know the Key Astrology Dates 2024 to help you plan ahead?

My webmaster, fellow astrologer and friend Pam Carruthers has compiled 2 FREE REPORTS. The New and Full Moons in 2024, followed by the Mercury Retrograde and Eclipses Report.

The most important days in the entire year to avoid launching any new projects are the days of the Solar and Lunar eclipses and the days when Mercury goes Retrograde.

The Karmic Axis

Eclipses are major turning points in the year. In astrology they are indicated by the nodes of the Moon. The Lunar nodes aren’t planets. Eclipses happen when there is an alignment with the Sun, the Moon and the Earth. When these are aligned eclipses occur, which happen twice a year.

The Moon’s Nodes form an axis in astrology, which in our birth chart is said to represent one’s destiny or spiritual quest in life. The North Node points to a key lesson in our lives. It represents new experiences towards which we must aim during this life. We have already learnt the skills of its opposite point, the South Node, in the past. Now we must grow and stretch ourselves through the North Node.

In the birth chart this polarity indicates your past life (south node) and destiny (north node). This is known as the Karmic Axis. So the people born in that time span are our Soul group. In approx. 19 years the cycle repeats, so people born 19 years apart from us share the same lunar node sign, and are also aligned to our Soul group.

Eclipses 2024 are times for a major reboot

In 2024 the transiting North node is in Aries, the south node is in Libra. The theme will focus us on our relationships.

To sum up, eclipses are powerful new or full moons. Ideal for rituals and meditation but not good for parties, weddings, or any celebrations.
